WOW Your Wedding Day Guests

Attention to detail is the key to a WOW wedding experience.  Planning a wedding isn’t easy and paying attention to every detail of your special day makes things even more difficult.  Here’s the good news … you can do it with the help of a great wedding planner!  Let’s explore five things that will WOW your wedding guests.  Keep reading and you will be well on your way to creating the wedding day of your dreams.

“For an unforgettable wedding experience, WOW your guests from the moment they open your wedding invitation until the time they leave the reception!”  ~ Marie Danielle Vil-Young

#1 Wedding Invitations

Your wedding invitation is the first glimpse your guests have into your big day; therefore, it’s important to select a style that embodies what will be the spirit and essence of your wedding day.  Getting down to the nitty-gritty and researching all of the various styles of invitations can be tedious and a bit overwhelming, so make it easy on yourself by first figuring out what will be the style and theme of your wedding day.  Will it be traditional, classic, or maybe even a bit bohemian?

Once you have made your selection, it’s important to make sure all of your wedding correspondence from invitations to menus to “thank you” cards incorporate elements of your theme.

#2 Splash of Color

Your wedding day color scheme will set the tone for your ceremony and reception.  Choose colors you love and that inspire you.  Don’t be afraid of vibrant color.   In fact, a splash of color to complement a classic palette often results in a WOW reaction!   Visit our wedding inspiration blog at http://avsevent.com/blog/2010/11/avs-real-wedding-julie-and-chris-2/ for a great example of how a splash of red adds a touch of vibrance to a classic black and white décor.

What would splashes of color be, however, without proper lighting to really bring out the WOW factor!

#3 Lighting is everything

Incorporating beautiful wedding day lighting is a fantastic way to create a WOW factor at your wedding.  À Votre Service Events team members are masters at this!

One of our favorite wedding websites – “The Knot” – highlights four basic styles of wedding day lighting.   First, there is the color wash.  This is a great wedding day lighting style if your location lacks interesting wall decor.  Next, you have the pin spot.  The “pin spot” acts as a spotlight and lights only small areas like the wedding cake or dance floor.  Another distinctive lighting style is the very fun & creative “gobos” lighting style.   This involves having stencils placed over lights to project designs or patterns.  Finally, you have LED lights, which are great for accent lighting.   You can see an example of creative wedding lighting on our blog at http://avsevent.com/blog/2010/11/avs-real-wedding-julie-and-chris-2/.

Whichever wedding day lighting style you chose to use, your lighting should speak to your personality while also complimenting your wedding theme.

#4 Centerpieces

Your wedding tablescapes play a huge part is creating a WOW wedding reception.  When your guests walk into the room, a beautiful table centerpiece and lovely tablescape can take their breath away!  When choosing floral centerpieces you want to consider the size of the tables. Also consider varying the height of your table centerpieces to create visual interest.

To create a WOW wedding experience, do not be afraid to be creative with your table centerprices.   The wedding day decor of some of the most memorable weddings incorporate the hobbies and interests of the bride and groom.  In one of our favorite examples, a couple whose family was in the movie business included the names of old Hollywood movies on their place cards.  This was a fantastic way for the wedding couple to personalize their wedding with an element that was meaningful; while simultaneously creating a WOW experience for wedding guests!

Great table centerpieces would be nothing; however, without beautiful linen to lay the foundation.

#5 Invest in Great Linen

Your guests will be spending a great deal of time at their tables between the wedding toast to the first dance, dinner and cake cutting.   This is more than enough time for dreadful wedding reception linen to stand out and offend the senses.

It’s important to consider your wedding reception venue, wedding day lighting, color scheme and table centerpieces when making your linen choice.  Great linen is just one additional element that creates a Wow wedding experience!  Work with a knowledgeable wedding planner to select fabulous wedding linen that incorporates just the right colors, textures, style and design for your wedding day theme.

Now you know five ways to WOW your wedding guests!   If you need help incorporating any of these elements into your wedding, À Votre Service Events can help you design and coordinate both the creative and technical aspects of your wedding.   It’s what we do best!

An all-star cast inhabits this romantic comedy about a couple who must endure a humiliating obstacle course of a marriage-training program in order to gain permission to wed from their church`s over-the-top reverend (Robin Williams). Hilarity follows as the lovebirds (Mandy Moore and THE OFFICE`S John Krasinksi) put their devotion to the test. From the moment they met in a Starbucks line, the couple was prone to cute mishaps and clumsiness, but they also displayed amazing chemistry. Then Reverend Frank and his creepy child assistant intervene, putting Sadie and Ben through a torturous process which involves couples counseling, bedroom surveillance, and a very funny sequence in which the couple must take care of two robotic fake babies while shopping for their registry at Macy`s.While Krasinski`s average-guy expressions are fun to watch, his persona on the big screen isn`t too much of a stretch from his role in the television sitcom. And Moore`s typical likability becomes irritatingly upbeat in several scenes. Packed with OFFICE cameos, LICENSE TO WED promises laughs up until the end, where it veers towards the trappings of an archetypal romantic comedy.
